My First Storyboard

This was my first storyboard which had its challenges. There were six chapters and each chapter was an information dump in bullet form and not grouped into subheadings. This made it more difficult especially because I was unfamiliar with the subject matter. In addition, my client advised I could not meet with the SME after reviewing the material to discuss my ideas and clarify any concepts to avoid misunderstanding. The only other content provided was a series of 10 questions for each chapter (which I was easily able to incorporate).

The textbook was not available to me, however, I was able to access the instructor resources from the publisher in order to support my construction of the interactive modules. With little resources available, I was able to construct the storyboard into three modules as requested. This, incidentally, was a test of my ability to create a storyboard. All in all, it was a great learning experience for me. Using my best judgement to ensure the content made sense was challenging but I certainly learned a lot about the subject.

Using the ADDIE model, I analyzed the material by going through the resources I had to make sense of the material. I then placed the content and researched images into the storyboard using PowerPoint. From there I developed the interactive components to create an engaging experience using pop ups, rollovers and quizzes etc. I have yet to implement it but I have been able to look back at it and evaluate what I knew then to what I know now about effective use of Storyline2. I know enhancements I would make which in itself is lessons learned. Learning something new everyday !

I have attached the storyboards here: Module 1 Module 2 Module 3
